Have you ever had skin that you've hated? Scared to go out into public? I know that I have. My biggest passion in life has always been to travel the world with the ones I love. Although, that is easier said than done. I have always been self conscious about going out. So, after years of research I finally found Accutane/isotretinoin. This is not a decision I came upon easily for it is known as a very harsh treatment. But, when push came to shove I knew it was time for me to get a better handle on my self esteem. The image below is an example of what I am dealing with.

So, 10 days ago I finally made an appointment with my dermatologist. After explaining my struggles and everything that I've tried she agreed with my decision of treatment. For the girls out here reading, Isotrentinoin is not the best for everyone. If you are to get pregnant while on the treatment it can cause horrible birth defects. If you go in and decide that this is for you there is a path you must follow. I had about an hour of signing papers. Then I had to go take a pee test along with get blood work done. After that you have to wait 30 days before actually beginning the treatment. I have twenty left to go and I will be posting about tips and tricks I learn along the way.

The booklet you will receive upon your visit. (Read through all of the information upon receiving)

To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness. -Robert Morley. I think it is okay to have insecurities. I know that it is okay to have a desire to be comfortable in your own skin. We can always work on bettering ourselves and become genuinely happy. My hope is that I can give inspiration to others as I post about my journey through Accutane and life. Let learn and grow together!
