In August of 2017 I met and started dating someone who had joined the army. We had a little over a month together before he had to leave for basic training. There was so much that I learned more about myself and life in the month than I ever thought possible. The day before he left we were watching a movie and talking. He suddenly asked me a question.

What is a talent that you have always wanted to have?

This really made me think. While I am sure we all have talents we wish he had but the first one that popped into my mind was that I wish I could draw. I answered him back and he issued me a challenge. We both new that I was going to have a hard time considering I love to be around those who I care about and he would be gone. He told me to draw one thing a day. No matter what I was doing to find some time within each day to do a drawing. After thinking about it for a while I agreed. Little did I know how much drawing would do for me in the coming month and even years.

After I dropped him of I had an Idea come to mind. I would start off drawing on little sheets of paper in which I would be able to send to him along with my letters. Below you will see some of the pictures I have drawn.(most of these are when I just started out) I don't remember in which order they were but I started out looking up ideas on pinterest. I would trace the drawings for a while and then as I got more confident I would do it by eye.I will never say I am the best at drawing but I love the outlet it gives you. I noticed that what I draw would and still shows the emotions I am feeling during that time. This truly did help me. To say that I am now proud of my drawings and where I started is a big deal. So, I guess what I would say the theme of this post is that no matter what you want to be talented at all it takes is a little practice and hard work. Nothing is out of our reach. I would like to extend this same challenge to those of you that have always wanted to have a certain talent. You can do it!

If you take on this challenge I want to see! You can email me at phonebegirl@yahoo.com. This could be with sports, cooking, dance, drawing, programming, writing. I want to see it all :-) Also if you enjoyed this post and want to see more from me subscribe to my page and follow me on my social media accounts below.
