Today it has officially been one week sense I started my acne treatment of Accutane. I will be writing a day by day account of my experiences this week.

DAY 1: 3/1/19

The left picture you see is the medication. It came in a box that had three packages of these pills. There isn't anywhere on the package that you won't see warning about not getting pregnant on this treatment. The other two pictures are with makeup on but as you can see I do have some actives on my face. A month before starting this they had me on another medication to help with the breakouts and this was called Cephexalin. If you look at others just starting out they are a lot more broken out. If you are going to start Accutane I would recommend asking the doctor to use this while you wait. I didn't really notice any side effects today but just a heads up the package is SO FREAKING HARD to open!! So, I'm very optimistic for the next 8 months.

DAY 2: 3/2/19

So, side effects... This is a bit of a pain. I didn't really think that the dryness would be that bad especially not if I was constantly moisturizing. Today I noticed I was getting little bump all over my face. I am preparing myself for what they call the Purge. I know that it is going to get better before it gets worse. Thank goodness for Cetaphil!!

Day 3: 3/3/19

So day three I really didn't notice any difference. Today has just been another day. I am not any drier. I am experiencing some really achy joints but that could be from working today.

Day 4: 3/4/19

Sorry for the bad pictures!! Looking at these photos I feel as if my acne has cleared up a lot which is weird. My doctor did say that this is normal but to still prepare for "the purge." The biggest side effect that I noticed today was that I feel very flushed and that my cheeks are really warm. I am not sure what this means but luckily I am not feeling dry at all. Otherwise not much of a change.

Day 5: 3/5/19

100% the worst day so far. As you can see from the picture on the left I have been clumping lotion on my face all day. Not only that but the rest of my body has been feeling dry also. Then about 30 minutes after this photo my eyes started turning read and I have been gaining more and more bumps all day. A friend even told me it looks as if my face was on fire like I had been sun-burnt. I can feel actives coming up. So let the purge begin....

Day 6: 3/6/19

I woke up today and I felt a little bit better. I still have all the side effects but not as strong as I did last night. I looked back at the tip sheet and went to Walmart and bought some Vitamin E which has seemed to help a lot. I am not sure if you can see in this picture but my face does have a lot of soon to be actives. My face also appears to be very sun-burnt even though I haven't been outside more than a few minutes at a time. If you have been on accutane do you think I should call my doctor about this?

Day 7: 3/7/19

Yes I am wearing the same shirt haha. So today I woke up and my face is still really red and my face keep getting more and more bumps which makes more really worried for what is coming. In these pictures my face looks really clear which makes me so happy. No matter what happens I won't let it get me down. I am determined to get better skin along with bettering myself!

Thank you so much guys for reading. If you have any questions please please please feel free to comment I am happy to answer. If you have any trick or tips because you have been on this treatment please feel free to share also. Accutane Dictionary:

1. The purge: this is when you have a bad acne breakout. It is worse than a normal break out because of the treatment it rids all the acne forming at once.

2. Actives: These are pimples, blackheads, cysts, and zits that have fully formed on top of the skin

3. Cetaphil: a moisturizer and cleanser that helps with dry skin.

P.S.

I am going to run a 5K!!! I have never ever viewed myself as a physically fit person. I always saw pictures and people who run 5K, half marathons, and Marathons as extraordinary people. I never tried because I thought I wasn't fit enough to run one. While I know a 5K isn't the most challenging of the 3 I am determined to run one. My goal isn't to be the best or even to be close to the front runners. My goal is just to cross that finish line and say I am enough. Maybe after that I will even work towards a half marathon because there is nothing you and me can't do. Never let anybody discourage you from accomplishing your dreams!
