I don't know about you but I have personally seen that there are tons of benefits to keeping yourself busy! Keep reading to see what...

While I'm sure we all love a long day sitting on the couch and only watching television, but there are great benefits to being a busy person.

#1: My first realization is that I am 1,000 times happier.

A. I don't know about you but when I have a busy day I feel more accomplished and happier. Does this mean I don't feel happy on lazy days? No. I am just happier on the busy ones. Research has actually shown that during busy days our endorphins go up due to all of the constant activity.

#2: Being busy helps me make better choices.

A. Every day I struggle with the common questions like: Should spend money or should I save? Should I work out or binge watch Netflix? Go out to eat or make a nice meal at home? Well, I have found that when I am busy I choose the better choice.

#3: I have a better memory

A. This one took me a while to realize. It was actually after a lazy day that I figured this out. I laid down after practically doing nothing with my day and had this feeling that I forgot something I needed to do. Then I realized wow I never have this thought after I am busy all day. This had me researching and I have found that there have actually been studies on this. People who are busy actually obtain a better memory of what needs to be done and accomplishing it.

#4: Planning

A. When your busy you have to plan. While this one may sound weird I think it truly is a benefit. When I am busy I plan out my day. This way I don't forget to have time for myself or my family. I plan it so that I have just enough time to get everything I need to get done without wearing myself out. Which again lead me to be happier.

I know many of you have probably thought that you aren't present when your busy or that it is wrong to constantly be a busy person but I am here to tell you that you should be ashamed. It is all about finding a balance. Studies have shown that being busy is great for your health and keeping you younger. You can still be busy while still staying present.
